Hygiene

What additional cleaning and safety measures are being put into place?

Our staff have been busy preparing and making important changes as your safety is our highest priority.

Some of these changes will be the one-way system around our facility, clearly labelled work out stations, sanitisation stations, sanitiser and wipes to wipe down the equipment, limited capacity in some classes to maintain social distancing and increased cleaning hours throughout the centre.

Are members required to wipe down machines and equipment after each use?

Yes, we request that all members use the sanitiser sprays and wipes available in the gym to wipe down the machines and equipment they have used.

Should I bring a sweat towel?

No. We kindly ask you not to bring a sweat towel to the gym or classes to help limit any risk of the virus spreading and that all members only use the wipes and sanitiser available in the gym and class studios.

Should I bring a mat?

Yes, if you have your own exercise mat then please bring it.  If not, we do still have mats available and these will be sanatised before and after each class.

Will hand sanatiser be available for members?

Yes.  Hand sanatiser is available at reception and at regular points throughout the building.

Should I wear a mask in the gym?

It is no longer mandatory to wear a mask in our centres. However, if you would feel more comfortable wearing a face covering in the circulation areas of our facility then please do so. It is not recomended to wear a face covering while exercising.

Should I wear gloves in the gym?

No.  Please do not wear gloves whilst training.  Gloves can harbor a high viral load, with easier transfer to multiple surfaces.  Washing your hands with soap and water and using hand sanatiser before, during and after training is far more effective.

Facility Usage

Will you be restricting the number of members allowed in the gym?

The gym capacity is monitored constantly throughout the day to ensure there is plenty of space and equipment available for all members.

Will I have to book to use the gym?

No. You no longer need to book to use the gym, simply turn up and swipe your membership card to gain access. 

Is there a time limit on my visit?

No, you are free to workout in the gym for as long as you like. However, if you have booked a swimming session then you will be required to exit the pool once your designated session time has ended. 

Will the changing rooms and showers be open?

Yes, all changing rooms, showers and toilet facilities are open and available for use.

Do you have group exercise classes?

Yes, we have plenty of group exercise classes on offer. All group exercise classes must be booked in advance to avoid disappointment. Please see your online account for our class availability.

How do I book a session with a Personal Trainer?

Please contact the PT directly and they will be able to arrange a convenient time with you.

Can I use the swimming pool?

Yes, our pools are available to both members and non-members and must be booked in advance to avoid disappointment.   

Do you have swimming lessons?

Yes, for more information on our swimming lessons, please click here or speak to a member of the team on your next visit to the centre.

Are water fountains in use?

Yes, however we ask that you use the water fountains to fill up a water bottle and do not drink directly from them. 

Memberships

I’m not yet a member, how can I join?

Please visit our memberships page to view all our available packages. You can join online or in our centre with a member of the team at a time convenient to you.

Swimming Lessons

How do I set up a membership for my second child without a second email?

Please come into site so we can help set this up for you. 

Course Pro home portal is saying “Not enough information to register”

Member is on correct membership and needs to wait to appear in Course Pro.  Please make sure you are using your barcode to register not the membership number. This can take three working days.

I don’t have a barcode number to register with?

This is the code on your swipe card.  If you don’t have one, please email your pool coordinator who can tell you this or pop into centre.

Can I link my children to the same account on Course Pro

Yes, whilst setting up an account in the HomePortal for one child, you get the option to link any other sibling or family members.  You can also do this at a later date.

What badge is my child on?

The Pool Coordinator has assigned your child to the correct badge and level. Please email swimming@barrowleisure.co.uk to discuss your childs progress and level.

I have 2 children on different badges so I can’t book both children at the same time.

Contact your Pool Coordinator and they can open this up for you on swimming@barrowleisure.co.uk 

I don’t want to sign up to a direct debit membership without knowing I can get the day and time I want

Pool Coordinators can give you a list of days & times available for your child’s badge. Please email swimming@barrowleisure.co.uk

I booked the wrong class. How do I change this?

Email your pool coordinator at swimming@barrowleisure.co.uk.
